Suspicious?

Would you folks be a bit suspicious of the bidding on this item that I won recently?

It is item number: 300143438598. (I cannot get this link figured out to save my life today!)

How should I go about notifying ebay about this?

Thanks!

Looks like the underbidder has bought some PSA 9 1977's before so I don't see it weird he would bid on this card. I don't see any Just Collect auctions won in the last couple of weeks. Just Collect is also a big consignment seller so I just don't see it.

How is this suspicious? You outbid his only bid on this auction.

Leighton Sheldon of JustCollect is as trustworthy as they come in any event. You're off base here, IMO.

Looks like you actually bought a bunch of psa 1977s from the guy you're thinking shilled you.

It looks like the guy you're accusing is a good ebay'er, with over 1000 positives and no negs. It's real possible that he's working on a 77 set, selling the cards that he upgraded on ebay, and buying more toward the set.

I don't see anything suspicious, but it's always good to be cautious.

I just found it strange that the underbidder is now "No Longer a Registered User."

I wasn't accusing anyone of anything. A NARU from someone who just bid made me wonder, that's all...

More than likely he didn't pay his monthly tab for ebay fees. Ebay rarely seems to take action unless it means they're not getting their money anyway, these days. Everything else they pretty much ignore.

  • eBay will also NARU someone if their account is suspected of being hacked, until they fax in the requested ID materials.

That's what happened to me a couple years ago, anyway.

MattK has had some issues with Ebay, I have dealt with him in the past on 77s and have had no issues.

    EXACTLY!
I've reported auctions that have things like "NO PAYPAL UNLESS YOU PAY THE FEES" or other weird demands or outrageous shipping prices or "grab bag" type auctions and nothing happens. But leave your seller tab unpaid for 30 days and they'll cancel all your auctions and send you a bill.

I've bought several (40-50) 77's from Matt, he always seemed like a great guy. I know he's had a ton of problems with ebay for some reason.
Do you think he consigned to JustCollect then shilled his own card?

From the times I've delt with him I would highly doubt he would do that.
