Trying to "buy the book" before the coins so to speak. Who can you recommend as a favorite dealer who handles coin books??

Thanks in advance,

I find seraching the internet used book stores the best place to buy a known title. The listed price variance will allow you to get a good deal IMO.

As far as harder to find titles, I recommend Charles Davis Numismatic Literature.

It is good to see that several others beat me to my recommendation. I heartily recommend Charlie Davis (Numislit) for all of your numismatic literature needs. Charlie has served me well for nearly twenty years, and has located for me every auction catalog with a significant half dime listing since 1880. He has also supplied more than half of my numismatic library. Charlie is not only knowledgable, but he has a mind like a steel trap and never forgets what you tell him. If you tell him that you are looking for something specific he remembers it, and will keep looking for it until he finds it for you.

I got my copy of 'Penny Whimsy', along with the Judd pattern book and 2 of the Snow IHC Attribution Guides from Amazon.com...

I like Brooklyn Gallery's discounted prices and fast shipping on current and slightly older books.

JT Stanton has great prices on Amazon.com, too.

Don't forget to check ABE books and Bookfinder, too.

Fred Lake and George Kolbe have good book auctions - subscribe to the free weekly E-Sylum e-mail for notices about their book auctions.

Charlie Davis is good too. (He's often on eBay). John Burns goes to the Baltimore and GSNA shows (and many others).
