2007 US Mint Sets

Hopefully the price is right and the fact of the additional dollar coins many will buy.
Possibly the dollar coins will be worth the price, for possible MS69's.
Will anyone be buying these sets?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm a little POed at myself for having ordered a 2006 set by accident when I ordered some stuff earlier. They have them still for sale with all the 2007 stuff and I didn't notice that it WASN'T a 2007 set.

<< <i>I buy a set of each from the mint each year. This year they will cost about my whole yearly allowance for coins that my wife has set.
Son-of-a-nuttcracker, that's sad.

<< <i>Uncirculated Coin Sets for 2007 will be placed on sale Oct. 9 by the U.S. Mint. The set features one example of each coin from the Denver and Philadelphia mints. The price has been raised to $22.95 this year to take into account the eight new Presidential dollar coins. Since the set price was raised by only $6, collectors are getting something of a bargain. Also in the set are Denver and Philadelphia Sacagawea dollars, making for 10 dollar coins in all. There are also 10 state quarters, two half dollars, two dimes, two nickels and two cents. >>
The latest Mint sales figures put the total of the 2006 set at 921,344.
<< <i>The October 02 Numismatic News is reporting the 2007 Uncirculated Satin Finish Mint Set will go on sale October 09:

My wife just called me at the coin shoppe to tell me she had seen an ad on TV for them. The Mint's website still says that they will be offered in "Fall."

I agree! A little more than ten bucks when you consider the value of the coins themselves. Quite a bargain. They'll probably revise their pricing for next year.
thanks a lot, mint.
<< <i>Later this year, the Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Sets will be introduced. The three Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set options - four-coin "P" mint mark, four-coin "D" mint mark, and eight-coin "P" and "D" set - offer historical details about each of our first four Presidents. I think that puts it at $7.13 for the packaging. Doesn't sound like a bargain to me. Having said that, I get one every year
2006 Mint set
$5.82 in face value divided by $16.95 selling price = 34.3% of total price is face value
2007 Mint set
$13.82 in face value divided by $22.95 selling price = 60.2% of total price is face value
I do not want to be considered a "mint apologist", but this year's set is certainly more of a "bargain" than previous years from a pure "face value" perspective. It is yet to be seen how the "new packaging" will affect the amount of 70s graded from these sets though, but I for one am very optimistic about the potential. Now we just need to hope for an early end to this set so we can get some 2004 type numbers... Wishful thinking on my part I believe
