U N Mint Stamps

Pardon my ignorance, but can these(mint) be used for postage in the U.S.?
My fading memory tells me they can.

Only if mailed from UN HQ in NYC. If it weren't for that possibity they wouldn't even be worth 40% of face that they are.

I like those UN stamps, too bad they are not good throughout the USA.
