Just got back from NY this weekend. I had not been to NY city in over 10 years so I was looking forward to going back.
My softball team from the Providence RI area went to Central Park to participate in the Tournament for Life V. Charity tourney that raised money for HIV+ kids etc. It was my first time in Central Park. Wow! freaking HUGE! Very nice softball fields, immaculate grass, we were on the great lawn.
We played five games, lost 3 of them, won 2 of them, met some interesting folks from all over the country; it was a good time.
Awesome weather too, cool and dry. I went 11-13 with 4 walks, a smattering for runs and RBI's (I bat sixth) alas my teammates struggled getting on base, thus our 2-3 record.
Our early exit from the tournament did allow for some exploration. We walked down to time square, down Broadway, little Brazil (there was a Brazillian festival going on)
I work in Boston so it was interesting to wander around the city with my teammates (who were all sporting sox hots, shirts etc) There was much good natured ribbing from passers by.
Some observations; Boston is a TINY city lol compared to NY.
Massachusetts people are still more aggressive drivers New Yorkers are louder, Bostonians are angrier though lol. New York homeless people sleep more and beg less, Boston Homeless beg more and talk a lot.
Boston smells better, way better lol.
Thats all for now.
