Like has been said, XF/AU details, probably AU, but the color is not right. I wouldn't be interested, but if I have to buy it, I wouldn't pay more than $2 for it.
Thanks for confirming what was niggling at the back of my mind... I knew something wasn't right, but I still can't tell a previously cleaned (retoned or not) copper coin, I can only tell it's a bit "odd".... the price at $85 seemed a bit startling, as I had seen other nicer examples go for much less. But then again, everything's got a wide margin of play...
well that coin is AU and has a lot of luster. still it seems too shiny. when i think of a red lusterous indian, i do not think that. let me dig up a pic of a nice one.
best i could do with short notice. amazing how many people here ask questions about IHC and how bad they look.
The second IHC that you posted looks original red to me. I would say 62/63RD by the looks of the obverse picture. It doesn't appear to be a bad looking cent.
The first one that you posted has a starting bid of 9.99. The seller has 100% feedback and claims that the cent is uncirculated. The details look close to MS (I would say AU) but the color looks way too dark. Who knows, maybe its an original AU-55/58 and a $10 bid may be a steal.

Thanks for everyones input. We need a thread that shows known examples of IHC's in all the Original states & colors, and then in all the false states & colors. This must be why I still buy the low-end old dog-dirt brown ones.... I just can't figure it out (an unfortunately I like 'em raw).

the luster seems to be hidden by the higher devices and overall
i would pass.
i want brown copper, not that. a mellow brown.
Other than that, $6.73 tops.

Whatever it is, I always think this seller's pictures are real pretty.... but they never make me feel very comfortable either.
