i have noticed recently many of these types of id's with the astericks in them.
also, some id's, these asterick id's in particular don't have clickable feedback numbers.

THey have that now instead of Bidder 1, Bidder 2, etc. Now they have 2 letters and ***** in between.

I have noticed it in every category, from Harley motorcycles to coins and it seems they are always high bidder and never able to click on their feedback, you can only click on their id and see what their rating is

There have been about 5 threads on this, in the USCF at least.
Ebay's new way of hiding IDs but keeping the ID the same per person.

Simple search will turn them up.
