German 5 and 10 Mark Commemoratives

I have an assortment of German 5 and 10 Mark commemoratives that I purchased when I was in the Army in Germany during the 80s. I would like to sell them so that I can use the proceeds to feed my current US coin addiction. How would i receive the best price for these coins short of listing them on eBay Germany?

Any chance if getting a decent price here in the USA?

Most of these coins are pretty common, and I doubt there would be much (if any) advantage to listing them on the German ebay site. The US site in the German coins category would probably do as well as anywhere. Good Luck. -Preussen

  • Preussen, one more question if you don't mind. If i list them on US eBay, should i list them as a combined lot or each on individually?

    I have 125 feedback, 100% positive. Thanksimage

I suppose it depends on just what you have (and how many), but my guess is that you'd probably do better listing them separately. Now with that said, if you have several of the low value copper-nickel pieces you might consider combining them into small lots to save listing fees. -Preussen

I have tried a few of the 70's and 80's common German commemoratives this summer and I would wait to list them until the fall. Many $5 starting bids are winding up at $5 or $6. This fall they might pull $7 or $8, hopefully $10.

As Laurent said, I too would wait untill fall.
Since the Euro came the demand and prices for these coins went down. On eBay Germany auctions often close under face value for common ones, proof sell slightly better.
