You all know it but watch nexr week when the rankings come out Michigan will be ranked in the top 25 Nationally & ahead of Applachin state

They can be ranked dead last and still be ahead of Appalachian State. Appalachian State is in Division I-AA (or whatever they call it now)...

LOL gs said above in a kinder way, but you need to get a clue before ranting. If they were ranked in the same division, they should be ahead of Michigan... but they're not in the same division so it doesn't matter.

Personally I don't think there even should be rankings until mid-October at the earliest. Rankings before then tend to be biased more in favor of preseason hype than what has happened on the field.

And of course, it's also biased in favor of the big names and big conferences. But part of that bias is usually reflected in the preseason polls, so it's not a completely separate issue. You just *assume* that the traditional powers will be powerful again, and you just assume that some unheralded team in a non-BCS conference (or even a team in a power conference that's usually not very good) is going to be worse than they are.
