Please be aware when buying silver/gold Pandas

I know that this forum has probably heard this before but I wanted to remind everyone who is thinking of buying silver/gold pandas to be very careful. I had a very bad experience but managed to re-coup all my money.

I just checked ebay and they are all over the place!!!!

If anyone thinls its worth posting info here, let me know.

It's a real shame because the real ones are quite beautiful.

It does seem like an area where buying from trusted sellers may be worth the extra few dollars....

I have been seeing fake Pandas in both silver and gold in droves! Be very careful as some of these fakes look very good!

  • I just looked through about 300 listings and about HALF were fakes!!!!

I have purchased 2, 1 was from a great seller of oriental descent in the US and it is a beautiful set and 1 from a criminal in China. I did manage to get my money back from the fake set.

I will say that the real set is absolutely fantastic.

What a crock... they're not all over the place and an educated collector doesn't need to buy plastic from con men.
  • There MANY, MANY fake pandas on ebay and where did I say anything about buying them in plastic?????

Novice collectors of these coins should be aware of the potential problems and all I am trying to do is give them something to be aware of.

There are VERY VERY FEW FEW fake pandas on eBay. The Chinese government shoots counterfeiters. And we all know the more Draconian the law the fewer people dare violate it. What's a growling stomach got to do with it?

"I wish I were" is proper English, by the way.

  • Ah, now you're an English major. Well, time will tell.

As far as there are not a lot of fakes on ebay, read the guides and horror stories about less informed people getting ripped.
  • Crito: The term FEW FEW is not correct in English. It's called a redundant word which I'm starting to believe you are. I am only trying to protect members from being ripped off.

If you'd like to compare writing and English skills, please don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

That's original, how 'bout this one:

I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
  • Actually, I wish I were relates to the present tense and I wish I was relates to past tense. You need to call your grade 3 teacher back and find out where you went wrong.
