After finally coming to terms and realizing that my thousands upon thousands of commons make great dust collectors. I have decided to start investing in PSA's. I choose the 1957's because I just plain liked them. I had no idea what a popular set this is. I also started with 1980's because I have a complete set of non-graded. (and I also like these). Any advice on how to get started. Can I have some secrets from you professionals.

1. Look for common cards that have the best eye appeal as they will be easier to sell if you ever want to break up your set.
2. Be patient - set the price you are willing to spend and don't get into bidding wars.
3. If you have nice raw cards in your current collection take advantage of free grading at 75% completion for all possible sets (basic, master, teams sets).
4. Get some of the tougher cards out of the way early in your set building, as certain cards don't come up for auction often.
5. Buy some 8's as reasonale prices if you see ones you need for completion.
6. Use a sniping service.
7. Read through the 1957 set thread as there is some useful information available.
8. Buy the card not the holder.
Good Luck and enjoy
