Not an Angels fan, but Vlad is having his usual HOF kinda year. Garret Anderson is doing Ok now that he's back - my eyes popped out when I saw what he did to the Yankees a while back. Angels pitching...well, I wished my Phillies had that kind of pitching.
  • Angels rallied in the 9th, but still fell a run short, while scoring 3. M's lost, so we are still 6.5 up on them.

I've been an Angels fan for 40 years and it so refreshing having a winning team put on the field for the past 5 years.

The closest I've come to being an Angels fan was getting Gene Autry's autograph while he was owner.
  • Sorry to hear that Ernie.

Can we get a show of hands from anybody who follows the Angels and is a fan???

  • Born and raised in Anaheim. Life-long Angels fan. Favorite player of all time? Brian Downing!

    Let's go Angels!

"I saw Jacques Cousteau at the grocery store in L.A. once & I watched to see what he would buy, but he only got corn chips & some shoelaces & I don't know what I expected, but I would've settled for a can of chunk light tuna even. "
    Brian Andreas
  • Welcome Doug!

I live in Anaheim Hills, rasied in Fountain Valley / Huntington Beach. Been along ride with the Angels. I was at the 86 play off game with the Red Sox. Never forgrt it.

Seems like the Angels Pen is getting us in trouble. Who would have thought that at the beginning of the season.

Tough loss lastnight, but almost pulled it out

Here's to a Halo victory tonight!

Two teams that are hot will be meeting soon in LA....GO INDIANS.
  • Alnavman

Cleveland scares me more than the Sox or Yankess in the play-offs. You guys have great starting pitching (1-3) like us and fairly solid hitting 1-9.

I'll be at the game on Saturday. Having my 50th birthday party at the stadium during the game. Rented one of the suites and cost me my left nut!

Hey Treetop, wish I could join you Saturday...back in 1989 my wife and I went on our honeymoon to San Diego, Anaheim and Las Vegas. When we were in Anaheim we went to an Indians game against your angels...a long time ago, I don't remember who won or lost but we really enjoyed the game and the park. And that was before they remodeled everything.....Like I said, Good luck to the Angels until Thursday!! and after Sunday!! al.
  • So far, only 3 and 3 on the current homestand, with 4 games left, all against Cleveland. Disappointed so far, should be at least 4 and 2 going into the series with the Indians. Glad the M's have stunk up the place, so we still have a 7.5 game lead.

  • Scioscia needs to keep the team focused and playing hard. Angels are not used to have this big of a lead this late in the year. They usually are fighting to the last week of the season to make the playoffs.

  • The only worry I see is the Bullpen. Can you believe that!. Shields is out trying to figure out his control problems, while Frankie keeps messing with that change up. winning run has to be on base before he starts to throw like he has in the past.

  • I hope Hafner continues his hot hitting against the halos! image

....OR i want tight games 1-0 (just keep BlowKowski out of the game!)
  • Hafner can be a monster against us. Hope he bumps his head and can't play tonight, or the rest of the series! Sizemore kills us too!

I'm sure Santana will be pumped up Saturday night. You guys creamed him in his first big league game.

  • Eight game lead now. Already resting Vladdy. The only veterans in the line up lately have been Matthews, Cabrera and Anderson. 1st, 2nd year plays and role players getting it done.

  • amazing stats for G. Anderson, nice rebound for him; a monster RBI machine lately. He can keep it up as long as the TRIBE wins tonight!
  • Anderson has been a HUGE surpirise since the All-Star break. His power is back, which he lost 2 years ago when the injury bug nailed him multiple times.

Sorry, but no wins for the Tribe until Monday!!!image

hopefully the tribe can bounce back tonight.....CC looked sharp in the first inning....
  • CC has dominated, as expected. A couple of more starts like this and we might have a Cy Young winner!

Hope the Indians can do it again tonight...the tigers look like they are making one more run at them......and they still play three more times...
  • Treetop- we each got the split we hoped for against each other, and Detroit helped you with the Mariners.

    Go Tribe!
Go Angels! (at least until October)
  • Saturday was a crapping game. Angels had a weak line up out there. The reason I point to Saturday is the fact I had my 50th birthday party at the Stadium!!!! Booo!

Overall it was a weak home stand. went 5 and 5. ............

Any ways, I'll take being 8 up on Seattle with 3 weeks to go!

    See you in October!

  • Congrats on your 50th. I will reach that milestone next August.
Now you did get to see a pitcher who will may very well be on your staff in 2009
in Sabathia. The West coast is calling him home and I don't thinkl the A's can pay what he wants.
The Dodgers may give some competition for him as CC loves to hit.
  • here's a picture of the gang at my 50th at the stadium last Saturday.

thanks for the birthday greeting....getting ready to enjoy my deluxe pizza from my favorite pizza joint and will pop open a cold one...just got back from my son's 8th grade football game and his team gave me a victory on my birthdayimage
  • My beloved Halos just took all 3 from the (not so) mighty Devil Rays. We are now tied for the best record in baseball with the falling Red Sox and SUPER hot Indians.

Angels just need to take 2 of 4 from Seattle this weekend and the division is there's. Hopefully the Halos win tomorrow, so they can take the crown on Friday and I just so happen to have tickets for Friday's game. image

  • Pitman,

I do like the Indians, just my favorite team is the Angels. In the American Legue, if the Angels fail, I'll be pulling for the Indians!

National League, Cubbies all the way!

  • not all that bad, you guys opened up a hospital ward in the dugout the last week of the season and it looks like Manny decided to show up and do his job again, just bad timing on that for the Halo's, plus Beckett, bloody sock and dice-k are quite the trio.

  • While the season ended in disappointment, it was a good year. The Angels simply did not have the firepower to match the Red Sox. As everyone knows, the Angels need a legitimate power hitter behind Vladimir. They cannot continue to rely on the slap hitters.
