I read the auction, and I read the thread. I'm not out here trying to defend the guy at all. If he actually said those things, then he's an idiot. If he's telling the truth and someone hacked his account, then I think a few people here may have overreacted. The fact of the matter is by harassing this guy (rightfully or not) people are interrupting an ebay auction. He's selling a legitimate product that has been graded well by a 3rd party. All the other stuff is just garbage.

I agree. Bidding is not harassing at all. Emailing the guy and taunting him is harassing. I see plenty of that earlier in the thread. I see someone who said he is sniping the auction and can only hope that if he wins, he'll pay as well.
I agree with you Gumbyfan. Some have gone overboard here. What is going to be funny is when these who are harrassing him wake up and find Ebay has suspended all their accounts for auction interference and harrassment of another member. For those who think they are hiding from Ebay there is a little thing called an IP address they can link all your accounts to you and suspend them all for these actions.

Brother or no brother I was bidder #60 with a $25 bid but still havn't hit the reserve. I don't know why people spend their free time nitpicking with sellers in the first place. You got the rise you wanted out of him but no pat on back given. I have to admit the whole "bid with class" was a bit silly and potentially distanced the seller from potential buyers but see no reason why it warrented a message or e-mail except to get that rise. A waste of his and your time.
As far as making a minimal bid on a card you think is going to go far higher, I do that so I can watch more items or have a lowball place holder while I ponder how much to bid/snipe later. I have actually won a few cards on the cheap with the low bid when forgetting to set the higher snipe bid. One thing that bugs me most on eBay is when I'm watching a card I want but forget to bid end with no bids or low bids and knowing I could have potentially had it had I simply threw down even a cheap placeholder bid. An auction has to start somewhere.

rube- you can get kicked off if you bid on an item with no intention of paying(auction interfernce) for it OR if you bid on an item with another ID AFTER being placed on their block bidder list. Also, I dont claim to be a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but I doubt the California law would hold any teeth outside that state, it would require a federal law or a state law from the state which the threat came from to be considered punishable. For example, it is a felony to play poker online in Washington state, however, a person from another state could not be punished for playing online poker under this law if they played outside of Washington.
Finally, not to do a John Kerry on anyone, but judging by the edited listing and its claims, I have a hard time believing the "brother" story now. Also, I dont claim to be a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but I doubt the California law would hold any teeth outside that state, it would require a federal law or a state law from the state which the threat came from to be considered punishable. For example, it is a felony to play poker online in Washington state, however, a person from another state could not be punished for playing online poker under this law if they played outside of Washington.
Finally, not to do a John Kerry on anyone, but judging by the edited listing and its claims, I have a hard time believing the "brother" story now. I find it hard to believe that two people that close in grammar skill and spelling, as well as the ability to create so much ill from idiot ebay listings could come from the same gene pool at random.
