2007 Upper Deck Goudey

Anyone else seen these? 1 gu and 1 auto per box for $100. Old baseball stars and champions from other sports? check. Possibility of buyback originals? check. So it's basically Upper Deck trying to make some money by following the Topps Heritage and Allen and Ginter trend. The Dice K redemption auto on ebay is already up to $102 with 2 days still left, crazy.

  • I like the retro products but it is too expensive now...I might buy a blaster or 2 but it is not worth $100 for a GU jersey of Joe Randa.

But as always I will trade for Yankees from this set...

    Looks like a nice product.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Looks very cool, but I can't sink $100s of dollars into another set. A&G has won me over for now.

Next Upper Deck began one of the largest buy-back campaigns of vintage cards in recent history. Tens of thousands of vintage 1933 & 1934 Goudey, 1934 & 1936 Diamond Stars and 1941 Double Play cards were reclaimed from the open market to be included in this set

I think that is a little stretch???
  • Hmm. I hope it isn't like the 2006-07 Fleer basketball where everyone thought each box would have a 86-87 fleer buyback, but they put buybacks from the first 3 years of fleer in them. I think hardly any boxes has 86-87 fleer buyback cards in them.
