I am having an identity crisis! Okay, I am not but my nickel is. Maybe my book is wrong, can someone look this up for me? I was going through my Canadian coins trying to figure out which ones to keep, and when I looked this one up the date and picture do not match. In my book the 1950 has the reverse for 1943-1950. my coin has the reverse of 1951-1952. Maybe my coin is fake? Any help would be great!
I have so much to learn!

There really isn't a standard '1943-1950' reverse as you mention, because the 1943 thru 1945 have the "Torch & V" reverse design, made in "tombac" in 1943 & steel in 1944-45.
The coin then reverted back to the 12-sided variety with the beaver on the reverse from 1946 thru 1950, including the reverse you have pictured. And it matches with the obverse that ran from 1948-1952.
A commemorative reverse dated 1751-1951 in honor of nickel mining in Canada was introduced for 1951.
However, the demand for nickel by the Korean war resulted in an early return to the "beaver" reverse and steel-composition nickels for 1951 & 1952 (under King George VI) and through 1953-54 under Elizabeth II.
So your coin is "legit".
