1964 Topps

This might sound crazy...but I'm looking for 1964 Topps PSA 10's...I have 28 of them now and would like to add to my list...I'm hoping a dealer or a fellow collector might have some of these...there are 207 of them listed in the population report...I don't see many in the Registry...so they must be out there somewhere...please email me if you can help me...thanks...

  • Henri,
A quick check of a couple of set shows that most are in play. Knowing that Mr. Spence bought Dave Cryer's set, counting his tens and adding a few shows that should be about 100. Rick the Dad's set has about the same number that you have. Assuming you are not one of those, that accounts for all but about 50 of the graded 10's. From there you will probably fin a lot of guys that have 2 or 3 each resulting in most of them being accounted for. But good luck on your quest and I hope you can root a few more out.

As Fuzz stated , most of the 10's are in Don Spence's set ( Formerly Dave Cryer's set which you can still view in the ' All Time Finest ' ! And I'm sure Mr. Spence had a few 10's of his own to add ! Rick The Dad's 64's ' has ( 27 ) 10's ........... not sure what happened to him , as he has been dormant on his set for quite alwhile now ! Also figure in BBCards4U ( lmayer ) who lists ( 6 ) 10's , although I think he has a few more that are not listed in his set , so let's say he has 10 or so ! With your 28 , that brings the total to about a little over 40 or so 10's spread around in other sets and Player Set Collectors !
Would love to have a 10 or two in my set , but I can't afford to compete for them ! Look forward to watching you make a run on Bdodge and Spence's set for the finest set ! Regardless of that , I think you are collecting the most beautiful set of the 60's ( I am biased towards th 64's ) ! image ................ Dave 'Robbie' Robinson

  • Thanks guys for the imput...actually I'm not trying to take a run at anyone...my goal is not really to have the best Registry set...I do not need to be first to be satisfied...I love looking at great cards...if my 64 set ends up all 9's I'd be happy...

I actually won 3 PSA 10's online last month...at eBay...I thought I made good deals on all of them...I did not realize that Spence and bought Cryer's cards...thanks for the info...

I started this thread just to see if I'd get some action...I have a couple of 9's that I needed that came my way...I hope to have the set up soon on the Registry...I just have been to busy to upload the set...I should be around 84% done with the addition of some cards I'm currently negotiating on...maybe a bit more...

Don't get me wrong...I need some 9's...to complete the set...so please email me if you can help there as well...
