Another ? for the card folks about boarder colors
While looking through the Topps packs from the Topps online store we bought with my son last night, I noticed that the boarder colors were different (green, blue, white silver, and gold) pardone my ignorance but why? any significance or just cause Topps felt like it---Tom

Topps loves to do that, and today's collectors seem to love it too. They also mix-in Refractors, X-Fractors, and all that mess.
Too much variation for me!

They are just parallels of the base set. Each card in the "Topps Total" base set, also has a parallel in each of the following color borders:
Black (#d/50)
Blue
Gold
Red
Silver
There is also a parallel that has the "1st Edition" logo on the front.
Regular "Topps" also has parallel sets, but I have only seen Copper, Gold, and Platinum as parallels of regular "Topps"
Edit to add: yes they were Topps total.

Your telling me, the wife brought two boxes home tonight and they say "Topps Heritage 2006" so I take it this is a different set, oh well my son is having fun and that's all that matters.
