Reggie Jackson Autograph?

When I was a kid, I got a 1975 KC Royals program autographed by a visiting player that I've always thought was Reggie Jackson. Being that I was a big baseball fan at the time, I'm sure the player had to be with the Oakland A's (or I wouldn't have thought it was Jackson), and I see no other player on their roster that year that appears to be a likely alternative.

However, I've looked at other examples of his signature posted on the internet, and I've never seen his signature with only an "R" in place of his first name. For the experts out there, do you think this is Jackson's autograph?

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

    75 jackson auto

It don't look like any Reggie Jackson sig I have ever seen .

I have 3 reggie autographed Items in all of them , he used his full name with his player number 44 in the bottom of his letters .

I'm still looking for others that might have that sig though .

That's definitely Reggie. There are tons of variations to almost every player's sig, but we get enamored with the facsimile images we saw on cards through the early 1990s and begin to think that is how an certain players auto is supposed to look. I collect auto variations of several players. You can track a player's career by autograph type oftentimes, but I think Reggie was pretty erratic when it came to his sig.

Yeah, when players were in a hurry (particularly during their playing careers) they would sometimes "shorten" their signature & Reggie did just that by placing just a "R" before his last name. As an aside, in the late 1970's I asked Cesar Geronimo to sign a card as he exited the Red's team bus @ Veteran's Stadium and he just wrote the initals "C.G." on it... image

Absolultey, positively, no question that Reggie is good.

That program sig was his usual "after-the-game-sign-while-walking-very-fast" signature.

The "Reggie Jackson 44" sig is the way he usually signs at card shows and he basically started doing that after he retired, although I have a couple of signed cards that I bought in larger collections that look like they may have been TTM sigs, which are good, but signed with the "44" and at the time I bought the collections he was still playing with the Angels.

that what i think, it was a walk by sig and that's about what you get.
i got charles barkley in person and all it looks like is a c and 2 l's but he was signing a lot at a golf course and kept moving
    i think it's good

I also have an autograph from Harmon Killebrew on the same program. I remember talking my dad into driving me over to a car dealership on the other side of town to get that signature.
