    That is a nice accomplishment for Torre. Casey was a good manager when it came to good relationships with the players, but many times all Casey had to do was fill out the lineup card to win games with those Yankees teams of the 50's.

    He actually moved into second place.

    Joe McCarthy has 310 more wins than Torre.

    Any baseball fan in 3rd grade knows that. The comments were about Torre passing Stengel.

    Except that the thread title says "for most wins as a Yankee manager," when McCarthy still has more wins as a Yankee manager.

    interesting that everything I've ever posted has been recorded by either stown or dallasactuary, but these egregious accusations seemed to have fallen through the cracks.

    Instead of focusing on the erroneous post (in which I tried to graciously correct before stevek talked), you bring this up.

    And I'm the one who is called an instigator.
