My first child was born August 5. The last 2 weeks have flown by... it's really an awesome feeling. Mother and baby are healthy and happy (just some minor health issues). My brother is convinced he'll play baseball
But I'm thinking football
And mom just wants him to sleep

My daughter was born in June of 2006 and she was absolutely captivated when OSU was on TV. She even rolled completely over for the first time
during the OSU/Michigan game.
Great pics too and congrats!
Congratulations!

Atta'boy Joe !!
When my oldest daughter was born I still remember her waking up that first night in the hospital. I knew my wife was tired so I took her down to the lounge and there was a tape delayed college game on (forget who). My wife wandered out and found me explaining to our new girl the importance of cohesive offensive line play to a good running game - I swear she nodded as I explained the nuances of down blocking and guard pulling.
My wife still teases me
Take it easy,

Ray Thiel (1964-2007) - the man who showed me more wonderful games & gaming sessions than I ever dreamed possible... you ran out of hit points too young, my friend.
Looks like a full back..

OTOH, if he's like his dad, by 13 he will not only be one of the smallest guys on the team but also one of the slowest.

Very funny Joe. Congrats on the new edition. I hope the baby and mom are doing better now.
I have great pictures of my son and I watching football when he was a baby. Even better, when he was 3-4 years old he would want to play video games with me. I would give him a contoller to hold and he would pretend to play. When he realized the controller wasn't plugged in, I had to actually start teaching him to play.
Well being an old-school hard-a$$, I would never let the kid win. My wife would say "Make him happy. Let him win 1 game". I would say "No way. What would that be teaching him? That he can cry and he'll get what he wants? That he doesn't need to earn anything? It will just be given to him? When he wins for real the first time, it will be an even bigger accomplishment". Well one day (he was about 7-8 years old), he beats me in Madden football. Not just wins, but he runs up the score and wins by like 40 pts!!!
The kid was ecstatic! Whooping it up and dancing with his mom. All at my expense.
He'll be a senior in High School this year and still goes back to that one time he beat me in Madden football (he hasn't won since)
Well, I did get him back. I kept him up that night till I beat him again.. That's when he learned the lesson that Daddy is also a sore-loser
are you going to change your regisrty sets to papa joe
.........carey
Congrat's!!!!

In my case, I would have been the skinniest and slowest. 6'2, 120 lbs and no foot speed? SWEET. So I never did try out for football.
10 years later, however, I was an assistant football coach at Moffat County High School in Colorado. 2 years of 100 hour weeks - loved every second.
So, even if he ends up small and slow, teach him football anyway
Congrats, btw

And be careful of cats around infants. There has been some bad stuff.
