Johan Santana's "Best" / Most Valuable Card

What is Johan Santana's "best" or most valuable card? Is it the 2000 Finest Serial Numbered to 3000? If so, this card seems to be selling around $100.00.

2000 Finest Johan Santana BGS 9.5 for $96.00

Seems like odd of that Santana's most valuable card is only $100.00. Any other potential candidates? I can only the imagine the love Santana would get if he were to pitch in say ... New York.

Definitely his best card, with the Refactors (/1000) and Gold Refractors (/100) being more valuable. Unfortunately, he plays in Minnesota, so he doesn't get much attention, and he isn't a native English speaker (Venezuelan) which just alienates him more from domestic collectors.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Santana's best mainstream rookie (all refractors, autos, inserts, jerseys, etc. aside) is 2000 Bowman's Best. Finest sells for a comparable amount, but BB is a much tougher card in high grade. There are only 21 BB 10's, compared with 39 Finest. SMR for a BB 10 is $130, while SMR for a Finest 10 is $80. And not that it really matters, but there was also one less BB made than Finest.

For key rookie card sets, PSA does not use any of the issues I detailed above, so the BB is the way to go if you're thinking in those terms. This isn't set in stone yet, but I looked into it in-depth a while back. Hope this helps!

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

The bowman best was easy to chip, not nearly as bad as the 04's, but still sensitive. Finest is still the card to own, and the gold refractor was die cut with little
notches if I remember right..brutal in high grade.

Many thanks to this educated group! I hope Santana elects not to stay in Minnesota.

Quit trying to poach Santana. At least have the decency to let us enjoy him for the rest of this season and next.
