That was a commercial product. The first ones showed up in the Eighties with different reverse designs (positions).
The obverse design is similar to the 5 Mark coins which were issued from 1975 on.
I have no idea who produced them or if they were used as peep show tokens.

Heck, they sell damn well at the bay.com

For what reason? It was at more than $30 already with much time left.

I really wanted to know for what it had sold and if there were chances for a new venture in the US.
