If you're talking about the marks on the bottom of the cards, it probably came from the factory like that. Racks are usually searched from the back, sliding the cards from side to side. To make these marks, the cards would have had to have been searched from the front sliding the cards from bottom to top, which is just a whole lot harder - there is a lot more room in the rack to slide the cards from side rather from bottom to top. Besides, if this were the case, I think the seller would have done a lot better job at hiding the fact rather than leaving the evidence in the picture. That is just my opinion.
Top cards on racks (and cellos) typically had "machine marks" or notches from this era due to Topps production methods. Wondering what you mean?
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I was in the store a few days ago witnessing exactly what you described Mr. VintageToppsguy, with the cello packs .
Made me sick to watch this guy squeezing the hell out of cello pack after cello pack , I stood behind him for a few minutes and was thinking about what to say, but it seems like I see it damn near every time I walk into these stores , so I just grabbed my boxes and said to the guy ," Thanks for screwing up the cards for the next guy * My Expletive here *
