A good debut for Brady Quinn with the Browns

He didn't get in until the 4th quarter but was 6 for 7 in his passing with a touchdown. The crowd was on their feet when he got in there.

Good. I am rooting for him
  • Make that two touchdown passes for Brady Quinn, look for him to get more playing time in the next preseason game.

being a season ticket holder it was nice to see someone actually complete some passes. I was at the game and left mid way thru the third quarter. Anderson and Frye were pathetic....and the rest of the offense not much better. I sure hope that it wasn't a one quarter mirage with Quinn because the Browns offense needs something....I too hope he sees some time with the first stringers next week.
  • Quinn will be nothing more than a journeyman QB over the long run.

as the keeper of secrets untold it may be true....only time will tell whether he's another Tim Couch or someone closer to Kosar or Sipe. Not hall of famers but at least they were good QB's.
  • Come on, he did all his work against third string defensive players who won't even be on a roster this year.

Hey, you have to creep before you crawl right?
  • Just saying let's see this guy in action against NFL starters before we talk about his 'good debut' is all.

I knew you wouldn't pass up another chance to diss Quinn. I don't know how good he will eventually be and you don't either. Frankly QB's are a crapshoot. Use some common sense though, as Weiss and Romeo were offensive and defensive coaches respectfully at New England. Charlie did pretty good with Tom Brady, didn't he. You don't think for one second that Charlie and Romeo didn't talk about Quinn many times before the draft? I can tell you for a fact they did as they remain close friends. Another point of fact is that Charlie has and does consult with Romeo on defenses. Given that do you think for one minute that Cleveland would have drafted him 22 if they didn't think highly of him and Charlie as well? I trust their opinions a gazillion more times than your quick in and out cheap shots at Quinn. What is your background that makes you such an expert on NFL QB's?

I knew once I posted my opinion the official Quinn cheerleader would have to post. You are so predictable. My expertise is the same as yours a fan that analyzes what he sees.

The only intelligent statement in your post is that "QB's are a crapshoot". Gee, 2 coaches that have work together and talk about a player and share opinions. Like that has never happened before. image I am sure every team who drafted in the first round expects their choice to be a star based on their expert analysis.

So let me ask the same question. What makes you such an expert that you are alreay to place him in the HOF?

Shall we start another list of all the first round draft choices that ended up a bust and followed by mid/late rounder that became a star. One of the great thing about sports is to watch things unfold.

In my opinion, Quinn, is overrated and in a few years one of our opinins will be correct.

Plus, if you read the statement I said jouneyman QB and not a total bust. Keep your pom poms handy you will need them.

If you bothered to read my post I said I don't know if he will be a good QB or not. You the all knowing all but guarantee he will be a flop. If you are so certain I'd like to know what special info you have to be so certain.
  • I love how your so over sensative about something that means nothing. I appreciate the laugh today.

So what information do you have that makes you so certain he will be such a star in the NFL?

Shall we just keep asking each other the same question based on 2 different opinions of the same player?

  • I want to know why the Quinn backers think he'll amount to anything? Look at his career at Notre Dame, he absolutely wilted under pressure against good teams and put up all his stats in the meaningless games against the service academies..he went o-fer in his career in bowl games as well.

He'll be a mediocre QB at best, but one who will continually wilt against good teams.

And before you start, don't even insult Peyton Manning and bring him up, ok?

Obviously you didn't see the USC game 2 years when they won with an illegal Bush push. Not a bad game for Quinn.image
  • Hmm last time I checked the Trojans won that game, not the overrated Irish.

May want to check the history books there bub.

I'll check the record books if you check to see if your brain is turned on. I said the Bush push won the game, now gee who did Bush play for? Brady had a great game against a number one team. I suppose that point got lost in your pathetic need to always be right. Give it a rest. I suppose the reason a team loses every game is the QB's fault. USC had ten times the talent ND had and still almost got beat. Quinn kept them in the game. Can't you come up with something else on him that some national sportcasters who can't ND always puke up. Use your own mind sometime instead of regurgitating that claptrap.
  • The only thing that matters is the W, and USC got the win. Now quit whining about one play and finally own up that ND is continually overrated by every sportscaster in the country in a pathetic attempt to suck up to their fanbase.

It's highly questionable though, that Charlie Weiss has about the same record Ty had before he was run out of town...but somehow Weiss gets more time to prove himself? Interesting to say the least.

Can you tell me how ND fared in the preaseason polls? Did they even crack the top 25? Will they even be .500 this year? Will Weiss get yet another year after this one?

Geezus man crawl out of the deep hole you are in. I don't know where those comments are coming from. Find one post where I've been an apologist. I am just responding to your claptrap. Take a deep breath. Ty was canned because he failed to recruit, end of story. There are a grand total of 8 kids he recruited left on this team. You contradict yourself so many times. You can't state that the only thing that counts in one breath is W's and then defend a coach who can't recruit. You just made my point about Quinn, he was surrounded by less than quality kids on defense and on the offensive line. Top flight kids were not coming to ND with him as head coach. These are facts, something you seem to make as you go along, last year Weis had a top 10 class, this years class is currently rated #1. So if its all about W's you about to be a Weiss fan. This years team is young and thin on defense and will be a 500 team at best and so what. ND does it the right way and graduates 90-95% of their kids. In 1-3 years they will be a top ten team again. So rejoice for a couple of years. image

Now if you have something intelligent to say I'll be happy to respond if not go pick a stink with someone else. Man get a life.
  • Lets just face a fact that IrishMike has a man crush on Quinn and will worship the swet inside his helmet.
