Very nice card. I have a PSA 9 mini for my Buckner collection. The Mini's are very tough cards. Congrats.

How did they package the mini's? They were a test issue, right?

What do you plan on doing with it? Is it for your collection or do you plan on selling it. That ought to bring a pretty penny on Ebay. There's only been 6 graded - one 8, four 9's, and one 10.

They were indeed a test issue but were never distributed. I think they were actually made for the Canadian market at OPC.
  • It is for my Ryan Master set (#1), so sadly won't be offered for sale. I have heard a lot of stories behind these cards and the ones that seem to make the most sense are: 1) these were printed in Canada at the OPC plant, 2) Topps printed them as a test to see if dealers were interested in them at the reduced size, as the company could save thousands on paper with the smaller format (I guess the answer was no since this new size was never used again), 3) Topps never "officially" cut the cards themselves, the salesman took the uncut sheets on the road with them and the only surviving cards were actually cut by a third party (professionally not handcut), which leads to PSA not grading some due to "Evidence of Trimming" if the cards are not perfected sized, etc.

In the Ryan set PSA has given this card a 5 for a value which seems low considering the rarity of this piece. Sure it's not as rare as the Venezuelan cards/stickers where only 1-3 have been graded total, but those garner a 9 or 10 in value. I would love to see this card's value bumped to at least a 7. I also have the checklist card from this set, graded a PSA 10, the one and only.

    tdfitz,

Since you are a Ryan collector, I was wondering if you saw my 93 Finest PSA 10 on Ebay (or the threads). I was shocked at what it went for. Do you have that card? What grade?

  • Check the Ryan board, I just posted there mere minutes ago! I have it in a 9.
