  • If I am not mistaken a qualified card basically knocks it down TWO grades. So it would be better to go with the PSA 6.

    Also, when it comes to qualified cards, I think a lot of people look down on a card when it has a qualifier.

    Just my two cents.

    Here's the PSA word on how much to deduct for a qualifier - my 1 cent and psa's 1 cent

    9Q = -2
    8Q = -2
    7Q = -2
    6Q = -2
    5Q = -2
    4Q = -2
    3Q = -1
    2Q = -1
    1Q = no deduction

    I know you don't need it now but someone might need to know about a lower graded card.

    depends on the Mk. If it's light pencil I'd rather have it, if it's distracting go for the 6. Not all 6's are created equal though, so in the end go for the one that looks the nicest.

    Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    How many 1Qs are out there anyway? That seems like an odd grade . . . it's like saying, "we would have given you the lowest grade for this old beat up card, but it's got some minor corner wear right here where this corner doesn't exist anymore."

    I dunno but I really have a 48 leaf 5oc. I thought it was at least a 6oc but the scan was lying.

    I'll give you a penny for your thoughts, who keeps the change?
  • The (MK) qualifier is the worst one for me. I'd rather have an (OC), or even (MC) than a (MK). So, I'd pay more for a 7(OC) than a 7(MK). But, probably many people disagree.

    Agreed. It also depends if the mark is on the front or the back and what it is. A light line is a lot different than some kid writing his full name and/or street address on it.
  • While the scans may not show it well, the 7mk is vastly superior to the 6.

    What's the mark on the PSA 7 mk Palmer?

    I've got this card in one of my registry sets...

  • In terms of the set registry, the 6 will give you a better grade as the qualifier knocks it down 2 grades...but as far as eye appeal goes, I'd have to think it varies from comparison to comparison.

    If it's a tiny mark, one that really doesn't stand out, I'd go with the 7MK.
