Can Bedard win AL Cy Young?

    He absolutely deserves consideration. He's been flat out sick. In my particular fantasy league he's been the highest scoring player so far this year. Granted that has nothing to do with Cy Young voting, but it's got to be a pretty good indicator, right?

    Just like in the NL though, there's a lot of guys that have a shot at it this year. I could see these guys all getting votes: Haren, Escobar, Santana (though I kinda doubt it because it's been such a subpar year for him), Lackey, Carmona, Beckett, and Sabathia. Bedard would get my vote if the season ended today.
  • He does indeed deserve consideration. But it's doubtful that he'll win it. Lackey/Beckett/Sabathia all are on pennant contending teams and will out-rank him in W's. If Seattle can pull out the west, Putz would probably even finish higher than him.

    Don't forget Fausto Carmona. He just tied CC for the team lead and has been awesome almost every start.......it's been ages since the Indians had two really dominant pitchers together the same time......
