As you probably know, 20th Century Fox distributed 40,000 california state quarters that had been colorized on the reverse by the Franklin Mint with the image of the "Silver Surfer" as a promotion for their Fantastic 4 film this summer.
The US Mint said the promotion was illegal and thusly demand soared. As a result, I'm sure there were many fakes produced to take advantage of the publicity and prices this item generated.
My question, does or will PCGS slab such a piece, not for grading, but for authentification?
Thank you
