SI.com's Tom Verducci did a very interesting piece on Baseball's Dream Team (All Time, Current, and Future). I want to start a different thread for each one since I think they are all very interesting. Each team features a complete roster with reserves, bullpen, and coaches. I think he did a pretty good job overall of compiling the lists. I only disagreed a handfull of times.
This is the Future Dream Team thread.
Future Dream Team
STARTERS
C- Joe Mauer. I agree.
1B - Albert Pujols. I agree.
2B - Chase Utely. I agree.
SS - Jose Reyes. I agree.
3B - Alex Rodriguez. I agree. He still has a bunch of good years left. He made it on all 3 teams and I agree.
LF - Matt Holiday. I agree.
CF - Grady Sizemore. I agree.
RF - Justin Upton. I think Alex Rios should go here.
ROTATION
Johan Santana. I agree.
Felix Hernandez. I agree.
Fransisco Liriano. I agree.
Justin Verlander. I agree.
Andrew Miller. I agree.
CLOSER
Fransisco Rodriguez. I agree.
COACHES
Omar Vizquel. I think Jose Oquendo should go here. I think he will be the next manager of the Cardinals.
Pitching Coach - Greg Maddux. I agree.
Hitting Coach - Mark Loretta. I would have never thought of him, but I agree.
RESERVES
C - Russell Martin. I have to go with Yadier Molina on this one. He throws out everybody that tries to steal. His offense is improving.
Infielders - Hanley Ramirez. Miguel Cabrera. Prince Fielder. I would rather have Ryan Howard than Prince Fielder. Othewise, I agree.
Outfielders - Cameron Maybin. Carl Crawford. I would put Justin Upton here. Maybin hasn't proved a thing yet.
Bullpen - Jake Peavy. Joel Zumaya. Clayton Kershaw. C.C. Sabathia. Clay Buchholz. I don't know anything about Kershaw or Buchholz. I would go with Phillip Hughes in one spot. I will get some heat for this, but just wait a few a couple of years before you totally shoot this theory down - I really think Adam Wainright has makeup of an ace and should be right here.
What's your take?

Ryan Braun should be on there too. He is having a heck of a year.

When I think of a future team, I think of guys in their early 20's or less than 4-5 years experience that will someday dominate the game like Billy Butler and Alex Gordon will, not guys who have dominated the game for 7-10 years like A-Rod & Pujols have.
I say Pujols is borderline "future" and I would replace A-Rod with David Wright, who I'm amazed wasn't on the list as at least a reserve in the first place.
I should also note that my network at the office has SI.com blocked so I wasn't able to read the full article.
