What will this grade? My guess...a 5

There are no visible wrinkles or anything that I can see...card measures correctly...it was found in an old book..who knows how long it had been there....I put up one of my PSA 4's to compare.

A six would work! I try these days not to be overly optimistic...show I'll stay with a 5.

I never believed that old story about someone finding a card in an old book...its almost as bad as in grandpa's attic...but maybe this one was in an old Webster's Dictionary or something...lol

The seller was from Canada and had no clue what he had letting it go for $150.....me hopes!

It was definately one of those where I was wondering....

You never know what your going to get from a half bad scan and a novice who knows nothing about cards saying its in "very good" condition.

But yes...it could possibly turn out to be a steal...I would say after grading I'll have about $180 total in it....and I've been seeing PSA 5's go for $500-700. PSA 6's...up to $1000 and 7's up to $2000-2500...so who knows...my luck it will come back recolored or something

very sweet looking card, easy 6, it ut the one they graded a 4 to shame, books are great places to find cards, but it gets boring looking thru old books lol,what year are these? i know nothing about tobacco cards,but they are beautiful-saw some strange butterfly onesand silk ones at flea market the other day but dont now what they were,great find!

Thanks Randy. They were issued in 1909. I love them..but can only acquire so many as they do get pretty pricey awfully quick...especially if you try picking up a HOF'er or two. And the design kind of reminds me of that 1960's look my grandparents house had...lol.

Nah, that is a solid 5, but I would say 6 for sure. Too bad I didn't see that Buy it Now before you did! I believe it's legit - the guy didn't know how to list it if you see his title. That is an absolute steal!

That's a definite 6. If they are lenient on the chipping like 71's and 62's, it wouldn't be a total shock to see ait in a 7. Good luck

I love the card but if it's mine I'm worried about 2 things. The stain on his left shoulder area and the ding on the back. The ding on the back above the letter U almost looks like it is a hole that didn't quite make it through the card. I think it's the same ding as the bump next to his left ear on the front.

If that's a stain on the card and not on his shirt (I know nothing about these cards) and the ding is a hole that didn't make it through then it's the best looking 3 you'll find. If I'm full of crap (not the first time) then it's an easy 6.

I hope it's as nice as it looks. You deserve that

Your right Jim, good call...it is a water stain on the front. Oh well...5 at best I suppose. The back your talking about is just a small spot of tobacco stain, not a divot or anything like that. But definately the more I look unfortunately looks like a 5 to me.
