  • hah I was thinking the same thing.

You notice that you never hear winning teams say 'it's just preseason'...which is what I'm sure the resident eagle fans will say. You know, the same guys who say the eagles are the best football franchise of all time?

Ah yes, those fans whose teams have no chance of going anywhere in the upcoming season, eagerly overanalyze the importance of preseason games.

Perhaps the Buccaneers can win the pre-season championship and Bucs fans can have a big celebration? image
  • Preseason is 100% meaningless. The Colts are something like 1-8 or 1-9 the past 2 preseasons.

  • Like I said, the only people who say 'its only preseason' are the ones who lose games....I'm sure if the Eagles had gutted the Ravens, we'd be hearing how this is a great sign for Kolb and the upcoming year.

PUUULEEEAASE Pre-Season games are in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM any sign of how a team will do in the regular season. There is zero argument to that notion.

Case in point, the Yucs beating my Pats the other night? That would not happen if that was regular season 9 out of 10 times anyways.
  • heh knew the Pats fan had last week's loss in mind.

But if the Pats had won Joey and I would be hearing about it nonstop.

    Interesting.

Thats a big negative Stitzen! We win enough regular season games and know enough about football than to get worked up over a bunch of practice squad players banging helmuts. image

    Meaningless? No way.

Obviously it doesnt count toward the season record but alot of things are learned by both the players and coaches during this time.

Matt, you have to agree though that pre-season is in no way shape or form a way to judge how good a team will do during the regular season right? I meen a major amount of the roster in pre-season week's 1 and 2 will be cut by week 1 of the regular season.

Paul, I agree with you on that point.

I was just saying that it is not 100% meaningless as it was said to be.
