'48 Leaf football

Looking for opinions and or actual truths. I am addicted to this set. I cannot be alone. With that said, am I the only one who feels there are more variations than what certain price guides and other references list? Why does Nussbaumer get listed as having a red and a maroon jersey color when it looks to me like sammy baugh has the same. Many other also can be found with some differences that are not listed anywhere. Is it just because no one cares enough or maybe it is too difficult for the pricing people to try and figure out. If this seems trivial and like a waste of time then set me straight and I'll start collecting 1990 Topps tiffany football instead. Apparently 10's are selling for tens of dollars from what I hear.

Even though I'm BigDaddyBowman and I love those vintage Bowman sets....I do also love the leaf issues as well....maybe I should be BigDadddyLeafBowman???? Anyways...

I have always imagined the what ifs of the 48 leaf set Think of the possibilities. What if they included the AAFC? I would love to see 48 Leaf Otto Graham, Marion Motley, Dante Lavelli, and all the other great Browns of the era.
  • obusek99- I agree with you. I believe there are other variations that are not listed. When sending cards to be graded, half the battle is trying to get PSA (and Beckett etc.) to recognize the variation. Sometimes they do, but most of the times they don't.

    This set is a monster!

I have seen others afflicted with 48 Leaf psychosis.

    Must be the technicolor!

    Loves me some shiny!
