Do not know what you are looking for here......showing some scans would help.

71 cards in PSA 8 and PSA 9 can fetch good money.

Most common 72 Topps cards in PSA 8 are not worth the grading fees.

If you are selling raw cards you would want to separate the years

Show us some examples of what you got......
    Collector of:Baseball
1955 Bowman Raw complete with 90% Ex-NR or better

Now seeking 1949 Eureka Sportstamps...NM condition
Working on '78 Autographed set now 99.9% complete -
Working on '89 Topps autoed set now complete

  • Thanks,working on scans.......
  • Also,I will get some scans up.......but so I don't waste the boards time......What I am looking for is to prob. work deals with individual buyers on particular cards that they are interested in.Without listing fees, time involved etc, I'm sure I can offer a reasonable deal,as long as offers are in the range of mkt. value...possibly discounted somewhat depending on the deal. I am allotting the next month to sell my vintage comics,60's football/& 72 fb,rookies ,and the bb.-possibly on e-bay,cardslink,etc....I also have many that I may send in for grading.....I am not interested in "dumping " everything....but again,I'm not married to any of these and not greedy......I will continue, unless this is not the appropriate place for this....

**here's an example of some that haven't made my plelim. list to possibly submit.....the stars are not in good enuf shape, the others would give an ex. of average grade of the other couple hundred '71's.....I have a list of about 50 or so I was hoping to send in for 8-9....however,you know the difficulty w/ this set.....and most will could come back 7's
  • Here's some EX's of the '72's.....BTW......let me know if I need to take this stuff to another forum?....THX....imageimageimageimageimage

Estimates from the scans of '71s- 5, 3, 5, 4, 4. I'd like to see the cards you think would be 7s or better
  • Well I may not have many based on your earlier grade........Be up in a few..... I'm assuming you can you see ok? thru plastic?

Just for comparison, here is what an average 8 looks like:

  • Thank you,by the way....these are prob. about as good as they get.....so most are under what regt. guys look for I'm afraid....even the 7 collections.....I may just put them up on e-bay for some mid range collectors and not have any sent in. any thoughts??.........and not quit my day job, huh?imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

Just a little too much corner wear. You would definitely squeeze some 6s out of the group and maybe a couple 7s, but even if you got 7s it's really not worth the grading fees. I made that mistake when I bought an EX/MT set a while back and graded the ones I thought could be 8s. I got mostly 7s and I had trouble recouping the grading fees.

I would sell them as a lot on ebay with several scans. You could still do ok with them.
  • Thanks for your input, don't really like it.....but it is what it is,and saves me alot of time and agrevation later-THX!,they are just never as nice as you hope when you blow them up on the screen, in the bright lights,huh?.....
...One last thing, and I'll leave you alone.......any sugs. on how to price on e-bay,and all! at once-or several lots?.....you may PM me if you wish, also do you think the '72's grade any higher w/out the black border issue etc.......
  • Maybe my only shot at 9's are these '68's....

Tried to PM you but yours isn't turned on.

You'd probably get mostly 7s on the 72s, but really not worth the money for grading. Those World Series cards look nice- don't know anything about those but I'm sure some other guys around here would chime in.

As far as ebay, I think listing them at .01 with no reserve and rolling the dice is the way to go. You could probably do a compelted auctions search to see what comparable lots have sold for just to get an idea.
  • Thanks for all your help..I may be gone for awhile, but you've been so helpful....before I plunge into e-bay,isn't it a concern that all your stuff goes for .01.....or do market conditions take care of themselves?......

If you end the auction during the evening, you shouldn't have any problem. Every once in a while they go for significantly less than they should, but you could also create a bidding war and get more than you thought. It's kind of a risk, but if you sell enough stuff it usually evens out.

    bhooks, those aren't 1968s, they're 1970s.

1970s are round date on front and blue printing on back
1971s are square date on front and black printing on back
1967s are black and white front.

1970 and 1971 say copyright 1968 on back but that doesn't have anything to do with the date. The 1970s end with the 1969 world series, the 1971s end with the 1970 series and then there are rare update cards like my 1971 clemente I posted above. There is also a 1980 set that has sticker backs instead of story backs, they are comparatively less valuable.

The cards were designed by Laughlin, if you google Laughlin and Fleer you should get a lot of information. I have a set of each but they really aren't worth all that much.

When you go to list the 1972s and also the fleer cards on ebay, I bought more cards in small lots or partial sets than I did as individual cards, also if you use the black background and big scans you should do ok. Finally, the biggest drawback of the fleer/laughlin cards is the centering problems they had, some of yours have nice centering and should draw some interest. You won't get rich but you should find some buyers.

  • I greatly appreciate that!.......yes the '68 copyright is the only date I could find.... and MY last card is # 64('67 world series),so that's what happened....Also...These came from the same estate box that all my '71's & '72's came from,....and I originally ?'d why they had '68's in there!.......Unfortunately those were some of the best centered that I put up!....THX. again...BHimage
