Need Help: German KM#47, 5 Mark, 1000 Year Rhine Mini Version - What is it?

Does anyone have any idea what this is? It appears to be an exact miniature version of a 1925-A, KM#47, German 5 Mark which commemorated the 1000th year of the Rhineland.

This version appears to be made out of iron (I think – it is magnetic) and is very small, a little smaller than a dime, and thin. The coin itself is quite dark. I edited the photo as best I could to brighten up the little Mini-Me to see some of the details.

Was this a strange pattern strike? Was it a “poor man’s” version of the 5 Mark commemorative that was given out or sold at events celebrating the 1000 year anniversary? Or something else altogether?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
