Lots of Mexican NEWPS! (large pics)

I have been some pieces, sold by Jeremy on eBay and ended-up buying a few War of Independence pieces. I watched a quite rare 1813 Guanajuato 8 Reales blow past my snipe bid without slowing-down. That discouraged me a little, however I did end-up getting something as exciting (in my book) - 1821/22 8 Reales from Guadalajara. This is a very unique over-date, cataloged by Calbeto in "Compendium". We can only guess why this die exists - did an inexperienced die sinker get carried away in 1821 and accidentally used a "2" punch twice, or did a die, prepared for next year, had to be used to replace a destroyed/damaged one in 1821? Whatever the reason for it's existence - it's a very cool coin and I'm happy to add it to my collection

I also picked-up some Zacatecas pieces (1816 and 1818):

Also, stopped-by a local coin store and, while looking through pages and pages of cheap, worn-out Mexican coppers found this beauty:

I also have a few eBay winnings coming this week. Can't wait!

I especially love the copper piece. Nice and crusty.

<< <i>Wow, you're really getting some GREAT pics with that new macro lens! (Oh... yeah... I suppose the skill of the photographer might have a little to do with it as well.
If you have skill - you'd don't need the lens. Me, on the other hand.... well ...
