2001 Upper Deck golf- overproduced?

Forgive me for being late to the party on this one because I'm not a golf collector but was this set seriously overproduced? I remember the hype about it because of Tiger but the #1 Tiger card, even in PSA 9 and 10, from this set is very inexpensive.

at the National in Cleveland I saw wax cases of the 2001, which I believe have 12 boxes in them for $90 unopened, heck even if there were only 6 boxes they still were cheap..

I think the UD Golf was overproduced, but the UD Golf SP Authentic was much more limited and still has a bunch of valuable chase cards....
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

if you think the 2001 ud golf might have been overproduced read this

I busted 2 cases of it and have nothing to show for it besides 2 no name game worn cards and some tiger rookies.

I think they are overproduced, but not as bad as some of the late '80s baseball. Wal-Mart has had boxes (hobby boxes, not the specially made ones they sell) for $14.99 a box, the same at K-Mart, but every now and then they will have a 20% off sale.

I did like the part in the article talking about some cards being "un-repairable". Trimmed?
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Yes, that is quite a story. I guess the fact that one guy was able to obtain that many cases answers my question about the set's overproduction.

1996 Sports Illustrated for Kids Graded #536 Tiger Woods BGS 9.5 books at $900-$,1200 (Currently, there is a BGS 10 Pristine looking for an opening bid of $2,500 with a Fixed Price Auction at $9,500.)

    Wasn't a PSA 10 sold for 125k OUCHIES!!!
