say a pray for my niece! please

7 years old got tested for cancer.. leukemia.. test results will be back in a day or 2. been a horrible night.

just praying it isnt cancer.. god help!

    Extremely sorry to hear that, especially with someone so very young. We just have to hope for the best that the test results are negative, and if the test is positive, to fight the disease as best as possible.

    I don't know anything about childhood leukemia, and presume the doctors have informed the family about it and there of course is lots of information on the net these days about all diseases. No matter what the diagnosis though for your niece, there are miracle medicines being discovered all the time so there is always hope for a cure and of course prayers as well.

    I would strongly suggest getting another test done by a different lab regardless of the outcome. It's always best to get a second opinion.

    I hate to hear that. I will pray for her. My son is 6 and my daughter is 4. I would surely want someone praying for mine!

    Always breaks your heart when it's someone so young. This is why you'll never have to ask me twice to donate to the Jimmy Fund. Being the father of a 6 and 4 year old myself, I can just imagine the pain. My prayers to your family.

    We'll keep your in our prayers. My only advice is to keep an open mind concerning treatment. I'm in my late 40's but have had leukema 3 times. I was almost 8 when I was first diagnosed with leukemia. I really only remember it being a long , hard process, with at that time , a long stay in the hospital, and a very long stay from schoool. I was 14, when it happened again. Kemo somehow worked then. At the age of 21 , I was hit again, but opted for non medical treatment, which was legal in the state that I was living at the time. It was never easy, especially to those that cared.

    We have 5 sons, and even though my wife has never been down that dark road, the thought of our sons or my wife ever having to experience , what others have gone through, is a very bad thought, especially in my mind. With HOPE all things are possible. May GOD's grace be with your niece and family.-Sonny

    kuhlmann, I feel for you. My niece had Hotchkins Disease when she was 15 years old. She was successfully treated with radiation and chemotherapy and has been cancer free for 7 years now. I will say a prayer for her.

    Kuhlmann,

    We came on these boards around the same time. While we posted our hearts content regarding this hobby, we forget that real people with real lives exist behind these screen names and icons.

    I have been absent for the last few months due to a family tragedy of my own (yes, cancer as well). I have been down that dark road, but never lost sight of the light ahead. Remain optimistic, there are lots that can help your niece.

    Remain a united unit as a family. Brother, cousin, aunt, uncle....whichever, form a united block and delegate tasks according to what a family member can do best. Your niece is the center of importance now.
    Always hold your optimism because your niece deserves the best chance possible. Work together as a family and let trivial matters subside. Do not take everything a doctor says at face value, be skeptic too and critical of his medical opinions....

    Thanks everyone from your prayers to gods ears! even my own. my niece. ALL TEST NO CANCER! a horrible couple of days on waiting on doctors phone calls etc...

    great news is she has no cancer leukemia cells in her blood.

    her white blood cell count was very high while her liver enzemies were low. spelling off sorry for that. or i might have it wrong. but after series of test..

    she has been diagnosed with ECOLI. once again spelling off. but doc said they caught it early enough that she should make 100% recovery!

    my daughter is 7 years also. they are best friends. so right now this is the best news we as a family could ever have.

    thanks to everyone on these boards for there prayers. when something like this happens sports seem so miniscual! once again thanks! especially calaban7(sonny)!!!

    That's great news!

    When I was younger, I was diagnosed with what they initially thought was leukemia as well, turns out that I had pneumonia and my anemia had gotten real bad....was a really tense couple of days, so I can understand what your family has been going through.
