Anyone dealt with siriussports?

I bought 27 PSA cards from him. He keeps sending me an invoice and everytime I go to pay for it, his checkout system trys to charge me $22 shipping when his auction states $17 for that many cards. I've emailed him 3 times and he just keeps sending me an invoice instead of fixing the problem. So what do I do? I'm not paying for it until he fixes it. It's only $5 but it's a matter of principle. If I get 22 negatives then I swear all hell will break loose.

If I ever get to selling that much volume and can't provide a decent level of customer service, I will gladly hang it up and quit dealing on ebay. Here's a tip to big ebay sellers: READ YOUR G** DAMN EMAIL ON A DAILY BASIS. Who runs a business this way? If I had an employee that had these work ethics, I'd walk his ass out the door.

I guess I shouldn't vent so hard but I deal with Kruk cards a lot and whenever I have a problem, they answer me in less than a day usually, there shipping prices are very low, and they've even given me free product if I wasn't happy. Buy from them if you ever get the chance, great guys there.

So I'm sure tomorrow I will get the same invoice that I got the last 10 times.

If siriussports reads these boards then I apologize for blasting you publicly but emails should be answered on a timely basis.

I always just changed the invoice to reflect the actual shipping charges.

Yeah, but they use a checkout system that gives one option - $22 shipping. There isn't a box to add or subtract or any other option to check.

hmmm...try the "pay for ebay items" link through your paypal account. You should be able to put any amount in for shipping then. I think that's what I did. Sorry, it's been a while.

I have dealt with Sirius quite a few times. He has nice cards, but communication is not his strong suit. One time I wanted to pay for a larger purchase with a credit card. It took him about a week to get back to me after two or three emails from me. If it is a staightforward transaction, he takes care of the transaction and ships out reasonable quickly. Any changes or questions could take a while. I know your frustration.

  • I've dealt with him multiple times, he's never had a problem with me modifying the invoice to the correct shipping. You'll get your cards very shortly after he receives payment. He's good to go.

I won an auction last year for a Psa 10, Colbert 72 Topps. I paid soon after the auction ended. He lives about 30 miles from me. Weeks later, many emails later, nothing. Filed a not received with paypal, then a few days later get an email saying , he had to leave the country for a couple of weeks, forgot to mail it out. Finally got it a week or so later, with a promise of free shipping the next order. LOL.

I have bought from him since, but never leave feedback. Great cards, Bonds personality.

S David...is that "pay for eBay items" link somewhere on Paypal? I have been looking for it for months...I cannot find it!

    Help?

(PS - nice feel-good story on Ankiel tonight! That is SO much better of a story than the one about the jackass who plays on the team I root for in SF)

  • Michael is a very nice guy,has real nice cards, and they will get to you very fast once you get the invoice squared away.He was at the National last week with a booth so maybe he is still catching up on that. But I have had only great experiences with him. Also your cards wont smell like an ashtray when you open the box.

Just click on the "send money" tab. Then right below it there will be another link or tab that says "pay for ebay items."

i have dealt with siriussports on many of occasions. I never have had a problem with the seller. I would just wait for the correct invoice. Unless he changed his checkout. The last time paid him was thru MY EBAY>WON>PAY NOW

Edit Add: Wabittwax I will be contacting you about those DJ psa 10s later today sorry for my lag...

siriussports averages around 1,900 ebay transactions per month, with little problems (as their ebay feedback reflects)...

Me? I've had plenty of positive transactions with siriussports.

Can they do better with their checkout system?

Most likely, but they are honest, hard working sellers, who reach thousands of hobbyists each year with their ebay auctions.

They are an asset to our hobby!

Oh yeah! Does anyone remember a few months ago, when I reported that I received a smashed-up large Perez-Steele Luis Aparicio PSA slab? Well it was from Sirius Sports Cards. And yep, they sent me a another one! It took a few weeks, but I was happy!

Funny you should mention a cracked slab from Sirius Sports Cards rbdjr1.

I opened today's mail and got three graded cards from them
all jammed into a tiny bubble mailer that would be suitable for maybe mailing a couple of raw cards in toploaders.

The slab on top had a chunk of plastic broken off in transit.

Sellers try to offset eBay and paypal fees by overcharging on shipping.
I understand that and don't have a big problem with it
as long as they use at least an adequate portion of the overcharge to insure that the cards arrive safely.

    rbdjr1 and wolfbear.....

Very interesting regarding your experience with receiving cards from siriussports.....

I have bought cards on ebay for 7 years now and only once have I received a damaged/cracked to smithereens slab and it was due to crappy packaging from the seller.......

You guessed it.....this seller, siriussports. I have never bought from him since.

I just won 5 Perez Steele cards from him. Man, I hope my don't get delivered like yours did.
  • Mike is one of the nicest guys you want to meet. He had a booth near mine at the National last week. For those of you who have never vended at a large event like this, it takes a day to travel home, a day to unwind and relax, and then several days to catch up with personal matters (like getting your mail, grocery shopping, doing the laundry, spemnding some time with your spouse, etc.) and also answering your emails and shipping orders.

Almost a week later, and I am still answering emails and shipping orders while I was away for 8 days. It can be very overwhelming being away that long.

Having said that, I would checkout for the $22 in shipping and send payment for the $17 with an explanation to Mike indicating that the auction said $17 for the quantity purchased. I am sure he will understand and get the order out to you promptly. His is a very nice low key gentleman.

I won a card from them recently. It arrived here in five days after my paypal payment, which was pretty quick shipping. The psa card was inside the mailer with no protection. It didn't get damaged, so no big deal.

So the shipping was fast, and the card was nice.
However, they never communicated at all during the transaction other than sending out the invoice. They never leave FB for the buyer first, and package poorly.

So there's good and bad with this seller. Perhaps they're too busy to take care of these smaller details. To me, the smaller details matter, to others I'm sure they may not as long as they receive their items won. They don't matter until you get the cracked slab in the mail or don't answer your emails regarding combined shipping or a wrong invoice.

To be fair, I've purchased many cards from them over the past several years and all the transactions went smoothly although I've yet to receive a positive feedback from them even though I've spent thousands with them.

It's like going thru a fast food drive thru. They take your order, give you your food and don't say thank you or put any napkins in the bag. Still you come back for more.

I've bought many items (mostly unopened packs) from them and have never had a problem. They don't package that well as I recall, but most of the items I've bought are encased in plastic anyway so no big deal. I understand how big volume sellers can get busy, etc, but honestly how much time would it take to correct an error or address a buyer's concern? My take on it is that some sellers like the anonymous role ebay affords them, because there is honestly no other reason not to fix something like the issue that started this thread. After all, in the course of a 24-hour day, how many e-mails or requests can even the biggest volume seller receive? And the internet makes everything so damn easy anyway.

True, but he had plenty of time to list auctions for sale. If he didn't have time to sell items correctly on ebay, then he shouldn't have listed them for sale. By the way, I still haven't gotten a correct invoice from them so I can't use Paypal. I'm going to have to mail off a check for the right amount and hope everything goes well. I'm sure it will but this is BS anyways.

Update- I went through the checkout process again this morning and the correct amount is finally there. I still haven't gotten an email from him yet though. At least the amount was fixed but his communication isn't the greatest. From the replys I've gotten here it sounds like he is a good honest seller who just can't handle his volume. He should look into hiring an employee with all that money he is making on shipping (from what you guys have said about cracked slabs).
  • I just received my 5 Perez Steele's from Sirius this week. Very well packaged, placed in a box with plenty of packing peanuts around them. No complaints here.
  • From my personal standpoint, those of you who have purchased from me know that
I charge $4 for shipping AND insurance, no matter how much the auction ends at--
$9.99 or $999.99. I put ALL my cards in plastic baggies-4 MIL THICK (NO-not the cheap
ones you see at shows), I wrap that in cardboard and THEN put it in a bubble mailer.

I don't think I've ever had someone complain about my packaging, because I look at it
this way--Someone took the time to bid in my auction, sent payment and it is MY
responsibility to package the item securely and as fast as is humanly possibly so that
they can enjoy their item without it being cracked or damaged in transit.

It takes a little extra time, but, I think it works out for all in the end.

Kalinefan, you should consider getting rid of the insurance on cheap stuff. That extra dollar in the end comes off your bottom line. Even though the buyer technically pays it, buyers will adjust their bid to your shipping charge. So in the end, the same amount of money comes your way and your paying for insurance. The likelyhood of the post office losing something is so rare, that those extras dollars per auction add up.

I don't even offer insurance on anything anymore. I'll personally refund the buyers money if it gets lost. 18 cents through Paypal gives me delivery confirmation so I know if it gets lost or not. If it's a large amount, I'll pay the insurance myself. I sell enough on ebay that taking a $10 hit on a refund once a year won't kill me and it helps keep my shipping charges low which helps my sales. I haven't had to give a refund yet since I got rid of offering insurance.
