I have to admit, when I heard they traded him, of all the young pitchers we have, I was very disappointed and for Delmon Young. Young has great potential, but he fits into the MN image about as well as well Randy Moss.

Young was a bust this year & the buzz is that he lacks heart & commitment to his craft.

Barry Bonds would have easily carried them into the playoffs this year...with or without Garza. Unfortunately Twins management doesn't realize that when you get to the playoffs, you cannot fare as well during the regular season with average to just above average hitting except for 3 slots in your lineup.

My good friend's grandfather works in the Twins' organization and boy are they proud of Garza! He told my friend (the other night) that they still have 100% confidence in Delmon Young, but often wonder if Garza would have put Minnesota over the hump and into the playoffs this year. I would say that it's likely he would have, since Young posted an average year and Bartlett and Harris were about equal. Unless the Rays win the series, the real "winner" won't be determined for 5-10 years, IMO.

His grandfather has become good friends with Tony Oliva over the years and we had the opportunity to meet him earlier this year at the MLB draft, but just for a brief moment. He seemed excited to have Delmon on the Twins this year.......wonder if he still feels that way?
