Mail from Canada?

Anyone have a clue how long it takes on average mail coming from Canada...with Canada Post service to get to the U.S.? I'm in Atlanta..not that it probably makes much difference. 5 days? 2 weeks? a month?

A week to 10 days is typical though I've had a few take longer, especially around the holidays.

Yes, to all of them. I am in Massachusetts, two money orders shipped the same day from BC got here 6 days apart. the 1st one was 4 or 5 days, the 2nd one was 10 days. I have had them take 3 weeks from Provinces that are closer. This is with a standard letter, bubble mailers and boxes are even more inconsistant. 4 days or 4 weeks are both possibilities. Be patient it will come.

sometimes 3 days , sometimes 6 weeks. you can never tell. they used to have $4.50 flat rate globabl priority which was great but now I think the minimum is 9.00

Exactly right, and the great thing about that is... you can count on it.

  • I've had a card delivered to a California in 4 days which is pretty amazing considering all the gridlock in between. That being said ....it's not unusual for stuff to arrive in 14 - 30 days due to the security delays at US customs. Not the fault of the Post Office or the seller. Regular mail should arrive in a week (7 business days)

I bought 2 cards around july 1, and one card around july 20. I got the july 20 one a week ago, still waiting on the other 2.

It can take two days or two weeks. One just never knows. But, I'm happy to say that I have never had a lost package or letter coming from Canada.

According to Canadians I have spoken to, delivery within the country can be just as unpredictable, slow, yet still reliable.

It really depends on whether customs at the border decides to have a closer look with the package coming over the border on it's way to you or not..

I've sent and received items, both big and small, several times (10+).

Only one item didn't make it because I didn't properly fill out the customs form. On average, it took about 2 1/2 weeks.. Shortest was 1 1/2 weeks and the longest was almost a month.

it can take awhile. the canadian postal system seems to work just like PSA when it comes to shipping to US. it varies just like turn around times with specials.

I get a lot mail from canada. It really varies. I get mine anywhere from 7 - 40 calendar days.
  • About three years.
  • Thanks guys...hopefully it doesnt take that long. I'm more concerened with items from Canada and not being able to rely on insurance.
