Question About Shipping Costs ... Relatively Speaking ...

I don't purchase expensive cards, e.g. >$1,000.00, that often (actually only once), but I find myself a lot more forgiving on shipping costs when it is an expensive item. For example, $10.00 to $20.00 shipping costs on a > $1,000.00 card = Not that big of an issue, assuming it is an issue at all. But $10.00 to $20.00 shipping on a < $100.00 card = huge issue, borderline unconscionable.

Do you find yourself being more forgiving/lenient on a high dollar item as opposed to a low dollar item with regards to shipping? Now, this is in regards to shipping only. Insurance, obviously, is a completely different issue.

Items that are going to sell over $150+ I usually charge $5.50 because I pack them in a box and use bubble wrap and such.

Doesn't matter to me as I add the shipping to my bid.

  • You have to keep in mind that those $10-$20 shipping charges on really expensive cards usually includes the insurance and delivery confirmation as the seller has built that in it to the charges.
