1856 Kreuzer

Would anyone like to tell me about this coin? Was it normal back then for the letters to not fully appear on the coin, or did they rub off my coin? I speak enough German to Guess it is from Fankfurt. I would also like to know an aproximate value.

I don't know what exactly you mean with

for the letters to not fully appear on the coin

perhaps a weak strike? That's not unusual. To me the coin looks unc, my Krause has it at $50 in unc.

    Hope that helps. image

  • The bottom part of the E's in Frie Stadt aren't there. I guess it is hard to tell by the picture. A weak strike then! Thank you! image

  • I like this coin alot. I wonder what it would grade. Until I recieved my instant collection a couple months ago it lived in a big envelope with a hundred various other coins. Just there rattling around with the others. I gave them all thier very own homes in 2x2's.

I am working on taking better pictures. How do you get the picture on the body of text?

Thank You JRC for the information!
