Shinders was an institution. Too bad a meth-head, gun toting, hip-gangster wanna-be ruined the place. Such a shame. I've been going there since I was 7 years old, I'm now 30. I spent many hours and a lot of money in that place. It is sad to see it go, although in it's recent form, there is nothing to miss. At least I got my fantasy football mag last week before the doors closed.
ninth Inning in Golden Valley has closed, the card shop in Crystal is gone. Dude down in Eden Prairie doesn't have supplies. You can try Tom in Mounds View, I asked him about card saver I's and graded card boxes but he never got them for me. The Har Mar show and club show occassionaly have guys selling supplies. I have a TON of 3x4 to loaders left from my cases I got from cardboard gold if you're interested.
Back in '86 my friend and I would ride our bikes there everyday and I would by craploads of '86 Donruss. If I would have only had the foresight to buy basketball.
When I used to work in Minneapolis, I would visit the Shindler's every other trip at least. I worked the the gov't at the time, and would get a per-diem ($42 for Minn/St. Paul if I remember correctly) for food. We could keep the per-diem (tax free) if we didn't spend it all. Needless to say, I would eat a $5 lunch, $10 to $15 dinner and spend the rest on cards. Lol... Some months I would have $300 to $500 to spend (because I was poor at the time, making around $28k and had no other $ to spend) and would be like a kid at a candy store at Shindler's. Too bad.

Collecting vintage auto'd fb cards and Dan Marino cards!!
A few of the Shinders were back open last week (Minnetonka and Blaine for sure) though I suspect it will take months to get the stores back on reasonable footing (like having supplies in stock). In the mean time I would recommend hitting the weekend card shows in the MSP area. There is usually one every weekend and a couple dealers usually carry supplies. I picked up a few sharp 72 Topps high numbers for my Twins set at the Har Mar show last week so there is some vintage around too. I'm not aware of any other shops in the area though I have seen top loaders and sleeves at big box retail.

My eBay Store
BigCrumbs! I made over $250 last year!
I've had great luck with them. They ship quick, are reasonably priced and have the supplies I need.
