A-Rod breaks it?
I think Bond's will play for 2-3 more years in the AL as a designated hitter simply to add to his HR record total and to his bank account. I think he will shoot for at least 800 jacks before he retires.
He won't hold the record for 33+ years like Aaron nor 40+ years it was held by Ruth. I expect that A-Rod (if he stays healthy and continues to play) will catch and pass Bonds by the time he is 41.

I suspect he'll end about 765 or so this year, and that will be it.
Arod has by far the best chance to break it, but to say it's a foregone conclusion is tough...he'll need another 300 home runs (which is a total only 114 guys have hit in their careers) on top of the 500 he has now to get there. If Arod does break it, I see him doing it when he's 42, 43.
