Help with 1790 AP, Italian States, 1 Grano.

Hi, I have a 1790 AP, 1 Grano piece that I am not able to find out much information on. I believe it to be from Naples / Sicily – Italian States. I would REALLY love to find out who the A.P. stands for. Krause did not have this particular one listed in its 1st edition of the Standard Catalog of world Coins 1701-1800.

I believe that it's listed under Naples & Sicily (Two Sicilies) as C# 39, but it looks like the listing has it as CC for the mint official's initials.

Yep, 1790 AP is a variety unlisted in Krause. Here's the 1790 CC for comparison.

Still not sure what CC or AP stand for. The 1700's Krause stops naming the mintmasters of Two Sicilies in the 1750's, and the 1800's Krause doesn't name them at all.
Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

There is a mintmaster with the initials AP (Andronico Perpenti) listed for the year 1798 in the Roman Republic-Ancona and Roman Republic-Gubbio...maybe there are others also, but I quit looking. imageimage

  • Sapyx and Blackhawk- Thank you both for taking the time to look up this information, I appreciate it.
Does anyone care to speculate as to why Krause does not have this variety listed?
