Will Favre cards spike this season?

I am sitting on some 91 tsc wax as well as several 91 and 92 tsc rookies. Do you think, like in baseball, his stuff will see a spike in attention and value this year?

  • Depends on how the Pack does.. I doubt there will be any major spike in his cards until Canton gives him the call unless he has a monster season and goes out with a bang.

His cards should pick up a little interest when/if he passes Marino for the most TD's, and then possibly if he gets near the passing yards record. The media will hype this up to no end and talk about his great career which should increase some interest in his cards/memorabilia.

Hopefully his cards won't go down when he passes Blanda for the most career int's! I think he's close to setting that record too.

There are too many of them to spike. He would have to break another major record in order to get non-collectors into the fray (see Barry Bonds). I did just see a 1992 TSC Hi Number box went for $560 which is absolutely insane. If you wanted to invest in something Favre related, I would go with those boxes if you can get them around $350-$400.
