NASCAR Set Question

I recently bought a lot of NASCAR cards, in the lot was a 1988 Factory Sealed MAXX Charlotte Set. Not that I really care about the value, but the price is listed as $80 for a complete set and $150 for a factory set. I realize factory sets are somewhat more desireable, but $70 extra sounds like some different cards/variations.

Anyone know the differences in the cards found with the factory set and the ones that came from wax?

just a guess on my part, but i woud say that they probably didnt make that many of the factory sets because of them just starting out as a company?its listed for a wax box at 250.00 too,
