  • No, the M's need him more than both of youimage And that is one guy I would not mind trading for Adam Jones!

Come on Bavasi... Bring the pennant to Seattle by getting Santana!

  • Adam Jones for Santana?

    heh

Thanks for that one...Jones is one of the most promising bats to come up in years. Trading him now for a pitcher who may or may not be done would be a huge setback for the organization.

Sanatana may or may not be done????? What does that mean? He is one of the top pitchers in baseball.

And the Bosox want to BUY a championship? GET OUT!!! image

I wish the Twins would keep him. Chances of that are slim though. They need to sign Santana, Morneau, Hunter, and Cuddyer this year. One of them has to go, I also thought Santana would stay and Hunter would be gone. Now I am not to sure about that.

I am surprised that Santana went off like that, he is normally very pro twins and very docile, he does not usually shoot his mouth off.

Hey Sexson-fan, are you related to Adam Jones or something? Sure, the guy "looks" promising in the minors, but since when has that been anything close to a garuntee of succes at the big league level? Given that, you'd have to be crazy not to consider trading the guy for Santana, who is probably the top pitcher in MLB over the last 5 years. Starters like that do not come around very often, and good OFers are much easier to come by if they need one down the road. I say the M's package Sexson and Jones and offer them up to MN for Santana ASAP!

And, what the heck do you mean that Santana may be done? A look at his stats shows no decline over the last 3-4 years. Have you been smoking that power-pipe again?

Agreed, I was pretty dumbfounded as well about his Santana comments! image

Edit: If I were Theo Epstein, I would sell the farm for him.. case closed.
  • The most ridiculous statement on Sports Talk: "Trading him now for a pitcher who may or may not be done would be a huge setback for the organization."

Ax do you have a man-crush on Adam Jones?

Maybe you could trade Sexon and Adam Jones sperm samples for Santana jockstrap image

  • Glad to hear others think this guy is a whack-job as well! I've been going back and forth with him on my "Bench Sexson" thread... he keeps trying to justify his stance for benching Vidro (.308) and keeping Sexson in there (.197) and looks more and more foolish with each additional post. The crazy thing is, he'll post one thing, and then contradict himself in his very next post.

  • As far as Santana signing a contract - if Zito got the rediculous dollars he got - just what is Santana worth? If Zito's contract is the baseline for a left handed pitcher - Santana will sign for more than ARod's $252,000,000. - is there really THAT many zero's? I'm in the wrong business.

    Ichirofan meet Axhole.
  • they were talking last night that Santana would easily command 25 million a season. and that was a hometown discount lol. on the open market.
  • The powers that be wisely are keeping Jones in the fold. Thankfully management made the right decision, and hopefully we see him in a M's uni by the end of the week, and Vidro and his ridiculously low .370 SLG will find its rightful way to the bench.

As far as Santana goes, he's done really, really well for himself. If he gets $25 million per, I pity the franchise that sinks that kind of money into a pitcher. Just look at how well the huge, big dollar pitching signings have gone in the past.

Yes but your talking about Johan Santana, easily the very best pitcher in the majors. Minny has a decent offense but could you imagine hou much better he would do with a BETTER lineup behind him? Surely you must agree
