OT-Buddy Bell out as manager of Royals

per 810am in KC. Probably not a lot of Royals fans on here (or anywhere anymore!), but as you can probably tell from my pic, I am one of the remaining Royals fans. Any other Royals fans on here?

I thought Tony Pena was still their manager? Do they even still play baseball?

I caught a game there this year when Cleveland was in town.

I may be in the minority here but I think firing him may have been a mistake. It seems to me that they were actually playing okay baseball this year. If anything I think that they should have waited until the end of the season. I actually wish they would fire the owner. Can that happen?

I don't know that I would call myself a fan but I do root for them since I now live in KC. I prefer the Cardinals though.

He may have been fired, but he/Royals are saying he's stepping down to spend more time with has family. Normally, I'd say that's just a PR line, but he did have cancer last year so I could see it as a real possibility. Jayhawke (I'm a proud Wildcat!), I'll be seeing the Royals when they come down to the Metroplex in a couple of weeks, as well as the beginning of September. I can't wait!

There's lots of Royals fans still where I live, central Kansas.
KC ballboy has a Royals thread on the sports talk forum.
Dayton Moore is building a winning program, we'll be competing for division titles soon, maybe even next year.

By the way, the Dotel trade for Kyle Davies might make Dayton Moore look like a genuis again, like the Meche signing, and the Tony Pena and Brian Bannister acquisitions have. He's been making a lot of great moves.

Buddy Bell has demonstrated (before he got to KC) that he is not a major league manager.
