Jefferson nickel experts – Help needed.

Have any of the Jefferson nickel aficionados heard about or seen an engraved card signed by Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr. and containing a Jefferson nickel? The card was made by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The nickel was taken from the first bag of coins struck in 1938. Some of these were distributed to newspaper editors, but the available list has only 25 names.

BTW – The first three sample Jefferson nickels were sent to Secretary Morgenthau on September 30, 1938, and one to President Roosevelt by Mint Director Ross. These were true pre-production trial pieces and it would be interesting to see if they differed from ordinary coins.

Yeah, me too...I have some documents from Morgenthau's files with a list of people to whom he was sending the nickels, and a bunch of "thank you" notes from recipients some of whicih describe enought that I can piece together what they were sent...but that's where the trail ends.
